It might seem a little confusing and odd at first, but we are just a simple community of misfits searching for something larger than ourselves.
let me start by saying this, developing community is hard. it is one of the hardest things we as humans can do. it takes work on behalf of all, and a constant drive to accomplish community - community is not “just” it is work. - John O’Keefe
I wanted to give everyone a heads up on the Altnoise project.
My good friend John O’Keefe will be in charge of developing the community within the project. His responsibilities will include making sure that your voice gets heard and projected throughout the Altnoise community. He will also help coordinate the new groups that will be forming very soon.
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. - Robert Kennedy
Are you against global warming? What about poverty? Then you must not care about the genocide in Darfur.. Did you forget about the hundreds of thousands of girls who are sexually abused every day?
Where does it end?
I don’t have enough time or money to make a big enough impact to change the world.
Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace - Albert Schweitzer, French Nobel Peace Prize-winning mission doctor and theologian (1875-1965)
Last year, when this blog was first started, I had no idea what the content was going to be about. I didn’t know if it was going to be a music, ministry or personal blog. Really, I just thought the name was cool and I needed server space for my web projects.
Throughout the year, there were times that the site was nearly shut down. The motivation for such a decision was due to a lack of direction. I like direction. It was hard for Altnoise. I was passionate for the site, but I was frustrated with the lack of direction.
