“When no listens to the quiet trees… one bird sits still watching the work of God”.

That is just beautiful and your right there are miracles happening everyday. We just have sit still and take the time to notice them.

In the end of the day, we have Him to shield us from any sadness, pain or distress. This poem reminds us the love and hope we're holding on to until the end of time. I know what you mean. We all get busy with “so-called life” that we push the really fun stuff to the back burner. Poetry seems to be one of those unimportant things in life. It won’t make us rich so whats the point. Of course, once we read a poem by someone like Thomas Merton, we remember why we write in the first place.
