One of the cornerstones of inspiration is the public speaker or preacher. The individual who can get in front of a great or small crowd and inspire everyone to take action. The inspiring speaker is at the heart and beginning of every important change in history. He or she begins the cry which mobilizes the others to act.

Throughout history, we have revered these inspiring individuals for their ability to express the feelings and concerns of people throughout a particular time. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. rallied the African American community to gather in peaceful protest against the prejudice against their race. Before he began to inspire, there was no centralized leadership. They were searching for hope and were lost in which direction to go. Do they rebel in violence or should they keep to themselves?

It was at their most frustrating cry that Dr. King stood up and voiced the concerns of his brothers and sister. He felt their cries and inspired them to freedom.

Inspirational Speakers Begin With The Heart

This is where inspiring speakers differ from persuasive public speakers. The persuasive speaker tries to get you take an action that he wants. He doesn't begin with your frustrations, pain, joy or passion. He begins with his action and then finds a set plan to get you to agree with him. He might try to identify with your pain but this is just a method to understand what you need to change your mind.

An inspirational speaker on the other hand begins with you. He knows your pain because he is going through it also. He knows your joys and love. He understands the struggle it takes when you are on your last piece of bread and the milk ran out last night. You don't have the money to buy another gallon, but you have a young daughter who needs to eat.

He understands because he's been there.

It isn't his job to convince you to buy into his scheme. You know what is right and where you want to go, but you just feel like life keeps on knocking you into the mud. It is the role of the inspirational speaker to pick you up and walk with you til you receive your destination.

His job is to inspire you through the journey.. in the darkest times and in the good times. You know he will be there.
