Family Inspirational Bible Verses
but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments. – Exodus 20:6
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children – Psalm 103:17
Sons are a heritage from the LORD children a reward from him. – Psalm 127: 3
God’s Covenant to Families
While researching inspirational Bible verses about families, I realized that I never truly understood how much emphasis God places on families. No matter what book or era in time, there is always one truth that God always promises to faithful parents.
If we raise up our family to honor God then he will bless and cherish our children for thousands of generations.
If you truly think about it, the blessing and promises that God gave to Abraham rested on Abraham’s willingness to raise his family in honor to God . God asked Abraham to stay faithful and promised that his family would make a huge impact on the world around them for thousands of years.
Whether or not you are a person of the Judaic faith, you cannot disagree that the Hebrew people have put a fingerprint on the shaping of our world’s history.
Inspiring Families Today
This promise really wasn’t only meant for Abraham. There are many verses and stories in the Bible where God promises that he will bless a man’s descendants for thousands of years if he raises his family to honor God.
How do I respond?
I don’t care how much you care about being a parent or a good spouse, but every father and every wife dreams that they can leave a legacy stamped upon their family. You might not dream of starting the next Kennedy family, but you do want your kids and grandkids to grow up to be good, successful and decent human beings.
My single most important goal in life is to raise my family to the best of my ability. I know I cannot control their destiny nor if they choose success for themselves, but I do know that I can create the path where they can choose a good life if they so desire.
I try hard to make sure that they eat healthy and I am always encouraging their learning processes. I take time out to guide my 3 year old son’s batting stance and he will be an excellent t-ball player come the fall, but its so easy to neglect the most important things of raising a family.
Teaching them how to Love God with all their heart and love their neighbor as themselves.
We accidentally or (more likely) purposefully forget to instill the little things in their lives that will make the most impact in their lives. I am talking about the character issues of the heart like grace, forgiveness, patience, faith, commitment and kindness in our daily actions.
Why do we forget?
Because Its more fun to teach how to shoot a basketball and it also means that we would have to model those qualities in our own actions.
The other day, I was browsing my favorite online Christian store – ChristianBooks.com and came across the most amazing gift. It is a wall portrait of a Bible verses about family and I thought it would be perfect for the community here at altNoise. I kept it in my thoughts and decided now would be the perfect time to share it with you!
