Tomorrow’s life is too late. Live today. ~ Martial (c. 30 - c. 103)
The great times in life is easy to live in the moment. The dull times is manageable, but its the red-eyed and disastrous ones that makes us look toward the future for better days. The day that circumstances have changed and no longer are the stresses and worries of living are putting a strain on one’s sense of being. When the tears are wiped by a passionate lover and we are embraced by a place called home. These are the days we live for, yet it is not everyday.
Whether it is tears from a broken heart or stress from a confused relationship, most days are filled with some sort of stress, anxiety or pain. Some may say that these times only makes us stronger, but I generally feel weaker afterwards. My pride is in shambles and my heart is laying on the floor in front of everyone’s laughing bellies, yet it is these days that we must learn to live in. I dream of tomorrow, but tomorrow is too late. Today is happening right now and I must be in it for tomorrows sake. Why must I live today… because it is a day I will never see again.
Boring Stuff about the quote
I was browsing through wikiquote a few minutes ago hoping for a little inspiration for a blog post, when I searched for time. While reading quote after quote, I came across this one and it hit me. Martial was a Roman Satirical poet (i.e. ancient Jon Stewart) around the time of Jesus and was famous for his epigrams.
